DIGITAL LIGHT SYNTHESIS

Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) from Carbon 3D is a resin based 3D printing technology that was developed for producing end use parts.

With a wide range of rigid and elastomeric materials, DLS is the perfect companion to our MJF printing services.

Produced in-house at our Print Lab in Cambridgeshire.

Like MJF but unlike most other 3D printing technologies, DLS prints are isotropic and dense.

END USE ELASTOMERS

One of the key reasons for us choosing Carbon DLS technology is it’s peerless ability to print elastomeric materials.

‘DIGITAL FOAM’

Using lattices with the EPU series of elastomeric materials creates components with tunable compression. Rebound and absorption properties can be tuned for each application. Applications include trainer midsoles, bicycle saddles and helmet liners.

CARBON DESIGN ENGINE

Powerful software for creating latticed designs. We work with our client’s original exterior data and apply conformal lattices. By controlling the lattice type, cell size and strut size a parts properties can be tuned for each use.

DESIGN FREEDOM

Free from the constraints of injection moulding or CNC, DLP printing can produce components that would otherwise be physically or financially impossible.
